Best Kids' Party Venues in St Albans (2026)

Planning a kids' party starts with one big decision: where to have it. Your own home is an option, but once you've got 15 kids, a bouncy castle, and an entertainer involved, most parents quickly realise they need more space (and somewhere that isn't their living room to clean up afterwards).

St Albans and the surrounding villages have a great selection of community halls, church halls, and centres that are perfect for children's parties. We've rounded up 10 of the best, with everything you need to know about each one.

Kids party venue in St Albans

1. Jersey Farm Community Centre

Location: St. Brelades Place (off Sandringham Crescent), St Albans, AL4 9RG

Capacity: Up to 80 standing

Parking: On-site parking available

Kitchen: Fully equipped kitchen with oven/hob, microwave, fridge, urn, kettles, crockery, and cutlery

A well-maintained community centre in the heart of the Jersey Farm estate, with plenty of space for kids' parties. The hall is bright and clean with good access, and the on-site parking makes drop-off and pick-up easy for parents. There's a curfew of 9pm, so it's ideal for afternoon parties. You're welcome to bring your own food and decorations, and the kitchen has everything you need for serving up party food.

Best for: Parties of 15–40 children. Plenty of room for a bouncy castle or soft play setup.

2. Marshalswick Community Centre

Location: The Ridgeway, St Albans, AL4 9TU

Capacity: Main hall seats up to 80

Parking: On-site parking available

Kitchen: Fully equipped kitchen with oven/hob, microwave, fridge, urn, kettles, crockery, and cutlery

Another well-run Sandridge Parish venue, Marshalswick is a popular choice for kids' parties thanks to its spacious main hall and good facilities. The hall is big enough for bouncy castles and entertainers, and the equipped kitchen means you can lay out party food without any hassle. It has the same 9pm curfew as Jersey Farm, making it perfect for daytime celebrations.

Best for: Parties of 15–40 children. Great location for families in the Marshalswick and Sandridge area.

3. Greenwood Park Community Centre

Location: Tippendell Lane, Chiswell Green, St Albans, AL2 3HW

Capacity: Sports hall accommodates up to 360 people; Orton Hall up to 50; lounge seats 20

Parking: Over 100 car parking spaces

Kitchen: Available for hire with catering facilities

This is the big one. If you want loads of space, Greenwood Park is hard to beat. The sports hall is enormous — think school gym size — which makes it perfect for bigger parties or events that need room for activities, bouncy castles, and soft play. The centre is set within 65 acres of parkland, so if the weather is kind there's outdoor space too. There's also a licensed bar available for the adults. For smaller parties, the Orton Hall is a more intimate option at a lower price.

Best for: Larger parties of 30+ children, or parties that need lots of floor space for activities and inflatables. Also great for combined indoor/outdoor parties in summer.

4. Park Street Village Hall

Location: Oliver Close, Park Street, St Albans, AL2 2NT

Capacity: Main hall seats up to 100; Downs Hall is smaller

Approximate cost: Main hall £20/hour; Downs Hall £15/hour

Parking: On-site parking

Kitchen: Well-equipped modern kitchen included with main hall hire; small kitchenette with Downs Hall

A proper village hall with bags of character. The main hall is a great size for kids' parties — big enough for entertainers and inflatables but not so cavernous that it feels empty with 20 kids in it. The hire rates are very competitive compared to other venues in the area. It's run by volunteers, so you'll need to set up and tidy away furniture yourself, but that's a small trade-off for the price. Note that a security deposit is normally required.

Best for: Parties of 15–50 children. Excellent value for money in the Park Street area.

5. St Saviour's Parish Hall

Location: Sandpit Lane, St Albans

Parking: On-street parking

Kitchen: Adjacent kitchen with catering-standard cooker and dishwasher included in hire

A solid, well-maintained parish hall that's particularly popular for weekend children's parties — they specifically note that Saturday and Sunday afternoons are prime time for kids' parties, so they're well set up for it. The kitchen facilities are above average for a church hall, with a proper catering-standard cooker and dishwasher, which makes serving party food much easier than most venues.

Best for: Parties of 15–40 children. Good for families in central St Albans.

6. Greenwood Hall at St Albans United Reformed Church

Location: Corner of Homewood Road and Sandpit Lane, St Albans

Parking: On-site parking available

Kitchen: Available by arrangement

A well-located venue right in St Albans with easy access and on-site parking — which is a rarity this close to the centre. The church keeps hire charges low as a matter of principle, making it one of the more affordable options in the area. Most rooms have wheelchair access and tables and chairs are included. The church itself can accommodate around 220 people, though the halls used for parties are smaller and more suited to typical kids' party sizes.

Best for: Budget-friendly parties in a central St Albans location.

7. New Greens Club

Location: New Greens, St Albans

Capacity: Suitable for children's parties up to age 10

New Greens Club is a social club with a hall available for hire seven days a week. It can accommodate most types of social events including children's parties (for children up to 10 years old). The venue has a relaxed, community feel and is well-maintained. It's a good option if you want a straightforward, no-fuss venue with everything you need for a kids' party.

Best for: Parties for younger children (under 10) in the New Greens area of St Albans.

8. Redbourn Village Hall

Location: High Street, Redbourn

Capacity: Main Hall up to 210 standing or 120 seated; Centenary Room up to 80

Parking: Car park on-site

Kitchen: Modern kitchen with serving hatches

If you're in Redbourn or the north side of St Albans, this is one of the best-equipped venues in the area. The main hall has a proper working stage, a colour-changing light system, and a sound system that plugs into your phone — which means you've got a ready-made disco setup without hiring anything extra. The Centenary Room is a great mid-sized option with serving hatches into the modern kitchen, making party food service much easier. Wi-Fi is available throughout.

Best for: Parties of 20–60+ children. Particularly good if you want music and lights without hiring a separate disco.

9. Memorial Hall, Wheathampstead

Location: Wheathampstead, adjacent to the village playing fields

Capacity: Main Hall, Hewitt Room, and Green Room available for separate hire; seating for up to 150

A charming village hall with three separate rooms that can be hired individually or together. The main hall is spacious enough for large parties, while the smaller rooms work well for more intimate gatherings. One of the standout features is its location next to the village playing fields with views across the Lea Valley — perfect if you want to combine an indoor party with some outdoor running around. Folding tables and plenty of chairs are provided and easy for one person to set up.

Best for: Parties of any size, with the flexibility to hire one room or the whole venue. Great for summer parties that can spill outdoors.

10. St Michael's Hall

Location: St Michael's, St Albans, AL3 4SS

Parking: On-street and nearby

A traditional church hall in the picturesque St Michael's area of St Albans. It offers online booking through its website, which is surprisingly rare for a church hall and makes the whole process much easier than the usual back-and-forth emails. The hall is a good size for typical kids' parties and is well-maintained.

Best for: Parties of 15–40 children. Convenient online booking system.

Tips for Booking a Kids' Party Venue in St Albans

  • Book early. Saturday afternoons in particular go fast, especially during peak party season (April–July and September–October). Booking 6–8 weeks ahead is ideal.
  • Check what's included. Most halls include tables, chairs, and kitchen access, but double-check before you assume. Some charge extra for use of the kitchen or require a separate deposit.
  • Ask about bouncy castles. Not all halls allow inflatables, and some have height restrictions. Always check before booking a bouncy castle separately.
  • Think about parking. Some halls have great on-site parking; others rely on street parking. If you're expecting 15 sets of parents doing drop-off and pick-up, parking matters.
  • Allow time for setup and cleanup. Most halls require you to leave the space as you found it. Book an extra 30 minutes either side of your party for decorating and tidying.
  • Consider what else you need. A venue is just the starting point. You'll also need to think about entertainment, balloons, party bags, cake, and tableware.
